The boys from 12 Volt Sex have been through a lot. From the garage to local stardom to the ranks of one of Americas biggest labels, only to find disappointment and learn about the biz the hard way.
Matt, Mike, Gary, and Jason have fought the good fight working their way up the ladder to become arguably the most popular band in Las Vegas. An aggressive live show mixed with super pop songs bring all the girls to their feet when 12 Volt Sex plays.
The songs and the shows led to a chance meeting at North by Northwest that led to a record contract with RCA Records. The big time had finally come for the Sin City band, or so they thought. 12 Volt Sex learned the hard way that getting signed isn't always the way to the top. Having recorded an album that never saw a release, the boys have decided to move on to other projects and leave the heartbreak their experience with the big labels left them behind.
We talked to 12 Volt Sex on a stop through in San Francisco, checked out their show, which was invigorating to say the least, and managed to get the boys to do a stripped down version of "Bunjee Girl" from their album "Pop Formula". Check out the video here or download the MP3 of the performance here. You can also see some of the interview here.
Unfortunately, the deal with RCA led to the demise of the band, but worry not, All Ages Show was at the boys last show at the Huntridge Theater in Las Vegas, and we got one more chance to talk with them. You can check out all of those interviews in episode 2 of All Ages Show, coming soon to a tv near you.
