Pier 31/32 San Francisco CA part of Warped Tour w/ NOFX, Bad Religion, et al

Anti-Flag is a bit of a puzzle for me. 5 guys who burst out of the Pittsburgh punk rock scene, which is known more for beer swilling, mooning, and cursing than it is for politcal activism, and have carved a very loyal following across the country and across age groups. I can't say as I neccessarily agree with a lot of their politics, but I have all of their records and try to catch them everytime they come around. Maybe it's because, being a former Pittsburgher, I feel a special place for them. or mayber its because plain and simple they are one of the best rock bands out there now.

I spent 2 days at the warped tour for 3 reasons. Number one it was a bargain. Two, I wanted the time to check out as much as I could. Finally, so I could see Anti-Flag twice. And it was nice to see the guys command a huge crowd at the event all the while delivering a to be expected blistering show. I wish there had been a bit more variety between the two days sets but I understand the need to play the hits so I really can't complain. They were also able to stop a fight that had broken out from the stage on the second day. It's nice to see they practice what they preach.
