| The Fillmore San Francsico, CA with The X-ecutioners & Kenny Mohammed |
|
| If you know me, you might be surprised to find me at a show by militant left-wing rappers. Well, even though The Coup and I don't always see eye to eye on our politics, onw thing we can agree on is that this is a great rap group. Solid, slammin' beats from Pam the Funkstress and smooth, purposeful flow from Boots, Oakland's most powerful hip hop crew is the real deal and remind me of when rap meant something. |

| Although I found it odd that the Coup as part of the Sobe Adreneline Tour, I was not disappointed with their set. Playing the bulk of last year's brilliant "Party Music", Boots and Pam took the stage with a full four piece band and backup singer bringing the songs to real life and getting everyone's heads bobbing. I also appreciated that the preaching was kept to a minimum. Headliners, The X-ecutioners, although featuring some of the best djs in the world, failed to impress me although they do what they do very well. |
